If Dzeko joins Borussia Dortmund for £20million, then the German club will allow star striker Robert Lewandowski to join United who would then allow Rooney to leave for around £35million.

  • Manchester City are poised to make an £8million bid for Crystal Palace winger Jonathan Williams, 19, with Liverpool and Swansea also interested.

  • Arsenal are looking to sign Auxerre striker Yaya Sanogo, who will be out of contract at the end of the season.

  • Rangers chief executive Charles Green has taken legal advice as he plans to take the former Scottish Premier League club into the English league.
