Raheem Sterling Salah Gabung Manchester City

Written By Unknown on Saturday, March 26, 2016 | 8:00 AM

(omni/rer)

siapa dapatkan tiket liga champions, liverpol atau Manchester United.?

Written By Unknown on Thursday, March 26, 2015 | 10:32 AM

PREDIKSI SEMBILAN LAGA SISA
Liverpool – United: Menang
Arsenal – Liverpool: Imbang
Blackburn – Liverpool: Imbang
Liverpool – Newcastle: Menang
Hull – Liverpool: Menang
WBA – Liverpool: Menang
Liverpool  - QPR: Menang
Chelsea – Liverpool: Kalah
Liverpool – Palace: Menang
Stoke – Liverpool: Menang

Namun, semua berubah ketika Brendan Rodgers menerapkan formasi inkonvensional [3-4-2-1/3-4-3].
The Reds berpeluang meraih kemenangan di Anfield.
PREDIKSI SEMBILAN LAGA SISA
Liverpool-Man United: imbang
Man United-Aston Villa: menang
Man United-Man City: menang
Chelsea-Man United: imbang
Everton-Man United: menang
Man United-West Bromwich: menang
Crystal Palace-Man United: menang
Man United-Arsenal: menang
Hull City-Man United: menang

Written By Unknown on Saturday, September 6, 2014 | 1:24 PM

Premier League: Southampton 0 Liverpool 3

Written By Unknown on Sunday, March 9, 2014 | 8:04 AM

Liverpool moved second in the Premier League on Saturday thanks to a hard-fought 3-0 win over Southampton at St Mary's Stadium.
After Arsenal slipped up at Stoke City earlier in the day, pressure was on Liverpool as they sought to arrest a run of three straight away defeats to Southampton and avenge their home reverse to the south-coast club from earlier in the season.

However, a goal in each half from Luis Suarez and Raheem Sterling ended their poor run of form against the hosts and kept them within four points of leaders Chelsea - having played two games more than fourth-placed Manchester City.

Making his 100th Premier League appearance, Suarez opened the scoring early on - calmly slotting home from inside the penalty area after an attempted clearance ricocheted into his path off Jose Fonte.

His 62nd goal in the top flight ended a run of nearly seven hours without finding the net and he turned provider for Liverpool's second shortly before the hour mark.

The striker's pull-back from the right was met by substitute Sterling who added a second, before Steven Gerrard stroked home a stoppage-time penalty to add an emphatic touch to the scoreline and ensure Liverpool of a first win at Southampton since 2003.

Southampton's England quartet of Luke Shaw, Jay Rodriguez, Rickie Lambert and Adam Lallana all started the game, with national manager Roy Hodgson watching on.

However Uruguay international Suarez, who will face England in Brazil, almost gave the visitors the lead after just six minutes, though he was unable to apply a finishing touch to Daniel Sturridge's cross due to Fonte's well-timed intervention.

Suarez was on hand to take advantage of slack Southampton defending 10 minutes later however, sliding home a loose ball from inside the area after the hosts' backline failed to clear.

Despite falling behind, Southampton continued to keep possession and Lambert could have threatened Simon Mignolet's goal after 25 minutes but he could only angle his snap shot over the crossbar.

Rodriguez's knockdown then found Lallana inside the area but the midfielder rolled his effort onto Mignolet's right-hand post shortly after the half-four mark before failing to direct Shaw's cutback on target.

Mignolet then produced an impressive stop two minutes before the break, clawing away Rodriguez's sidefooted effort as the hosts were frustrated in their attempts to level.

Southampton continued their momentum into the second half but were unable to breach the visitors' defence while Brendan Rodgers opted to introduce Sterling in an attempt to offer more of a forward threat.

It proved an astute decision as the winger slid home Suarez's cross to double Liverpool's advantage two minutes before the hour on his 50th Premier League appearance.

Gerrard capped off an important outing for his side with a late penalty, won by Suarez, as Liverpool racked up a fourth-straight win in the top flight to reinforce their credentials as title hopefuls.

De Boer: I would like to coach Liverpool or Tottenham

Written By Unknown on Friday, February 7, 2014 | 7:18 AM

Managing Liverpool or Tottenham would appeal to Ajax coach Frank de Boer, who has turned down previous approaches from both clubs.
De Boer took over at Ajax in December 2010 and has led the club to three successive Eredivisie titles.

The 43-year-old, who represented Ajax and Barcelona as a player, insists he would be interested in a switch to the Premier League in the future.

"Those two clubs (Liverpool or Tottenham) are clubs that I think in the future I could be a manager of," De Boer told the BBC .

"I think the history of the clubs and what you can do with the team is my cup of tea.

"(But now) I'm not really thinking about it because I'm very happy here at Ajax. I'm not in a hurry to leave because everybody is still happy with me.

"I step in my car with a big smile to go to the club. I don't think I'm finished here but there will come a time when I don't like it any more or the club doesn't like me anymore.

"Then we have to go both ways."

De Boer confirmed that both Liverpool and Tottenham have approached him in the past, while he also revealed he turned down the chance to take charge at White Hart Lane after Andre Villas-Boas was sacked in December.

"Tottenham called my manager with the possibility after sacking Villas-Boas but I said, 'no, right now it's not the right moment'," he added.

Ajax lead the Eredivisie by four points after 22 matches this season.

Rodgers eyes 'new Carragher'

Written By Unknown on Saturday, March 30, 2013 | 1:16 AM

Brendan Rodgers admits Liverpool may have no other option than to buy in the necessary character to replace retiring defender Jamie Carragher.

Jaime reacted after Liverpool win a penalty versus Spurs.

The Reds boss has regularly praised the leadership qualities of his 35-year-old vice-captain, who will bring his 16-year professional career to an end in May.

Carragher had been a peripheral figure for the first half of the season but Rodgers brought him back into the starting line-up in January as he felt the side required more steel.

Since then the veteran centre-back has been a virtual ever-present, although his absence through injury for defeat at Southampton a fortnight ago gave Rodgers more food for thought on a suitable replacement.

"We missed his leadership qualities at Southampton and he will come back into the squad for the weekend," said Rodgers of Carragher's likely return to face Aston Villa on Sunday.

"He is a real role model for all the players - the young and the senior ones - but he has eight games left, let's not write him off yet."

Carragher will leave a considerable gap when he quits but even with Denmark captain Daniel Agger, Slovakia international Martin Skrtel and Uruguay centre-back Sebastian Coates at his disposal Rodgers admits he may have to look elsewhere.

"It is something we will have a look at but there is no doubt he will be a miss," said the Reds boss, who has been heavily linked with a move for Wales captain Ashley Williams of his former club Swansea as well as Feyenoord's Stefan de Vrij.

"I will miss him because he is a good man, a lover of football and he puts everything into training every day.

"We are going to be light in that area so between now and the end of the season we have to assess it as that is the one area of the field where we haven't brought anyone in.

"Naturally we are going to lose Jamie. There is no player who is ever irreplaceable but he is a big loss because you can see his experience and how he leads the line.

"You need someone in there who is vocal and organises the line and he does that remarkably well.

"I also have really good players here - Daniel Agger and Martin Skrtel - and between now and the end of the season we know we need to strengthen the group and that is what we will look to do.

"If it is not something we have in the group then we may need that type of character in there who can organise and lead."

Rodgers: Suarez happy

Written By Unknown on Friday, March 29, 2013 | 11:08 PM

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has played down renewed speculation over the future of striker Luis Suarez.

The Uruguay forward appeared to suggest he would be willing to leave Anfield to join a Champions League club in the summer during an interview in his homeland ahead of last week's World Cup qualifiers.

Liverpool managing director Ian Ayre insisted Suarez had been misquoted, and Rodgers believes the last round of rumours are of "no great relevance to Liverpool".

Ahead of Sunday's trip to Aston Villa, Rodgers said: "I haven't spoken to Luis yet. He was back late on Thursday and we just ran the medical team over him and he trained on Friday.

"All I am aware of is we have an outstanding player who has given everything for the club and he is very happy here.

"Every time he goes away, there is always something. I always say to players I have a simple rule: when you are with Liverpool just talk about Liverpool and when you are away with your international team concentrate on your international team so there is no drama.

"So what he says when he is with Uruguay is of no great relevance to Liverpool."

Rodgers has also played down claims from Ajax technical director Marc Overmars that Liverpool scouts have been making "regular" checks on midfielder Christian Eriksen.

"If you read what he says, he says we've had scouts there - but we could have been watching any of them, we could have been watching players from the other team," Rodgers added. "I won't speculate on anything."

Christian Eriksen linked with Liverpool

Marc Overmars has confirmed Liverpool have been 'frequent visitors' to Ajax this season amid reports Christian Eriksen is Brendan Rodgers' top summer transfer target.

Eriksen has long been regarded as one of the brightest talents in European football and the Denmark international only has one more season to run on his Ajax contract.

The 21-year-old confirmed last week that he was uncertain about his long-term future at the Amsterdam ArenA as he had not received a 'detailed' offer of a contract extension.

Reports in the Dutch and English media have subsequently claimed that Liverpool are favourites to snap up Eriksen in a transfer worth around €20million (£16.9m).

Ajax technical director Overmars would not comment on the transfer rumours, but acknowledged that Liverpool have regularly had scouts watching their games.

"We have a list of scouts from foreign clubs who have visited us and Liverpool have been a frequent visitor," Overmars told De Telegraaf.

Eriksen has been repeatedly linked with a move to the Premier League, with Arsenal, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur among the other clubs to have a reported interest.

Meanwhile, speculation has also suggested that Shakhtar Donetsk's Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Newcastle United winger Hatem Ben Arfa are alternatives for Rodgers if the Liverpool manager fails to land Eriksen.

Rodgers: I trust Henderson

Written By Unknown on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 | 5:12 AM

Brendan Rodgers has paid tribute to the attitude and form of Jordan Henderson, admitting: 'I know I can always call on him.'

The midfielder has produced some of his best performances for the club under the stewardship of the boss, making 36 appearances and scoring three goals so far this term.

Though Henderson hasn't began a game since the Europa League clash with Zenit St Petersburg at Anfield in February, Rodgers has been delighted with his contribution and insists he'll have no qualms about recalling him to the starting XI when the time is right.

"It's just the balance and it depends on the opponent," Rodgers said. "Jordan has been excellent and his attitude has been great. The team has been winning as well.

"But Jordan has been excellent, he's a good player, he's improving tactically all the time and I know if I need to call on him he will be ready."

Suarez will stay at Liverpool but not forever

Written By Unknown on Sunday, March 24, 2013 | 2:08 AM

Uruguay teammate Edinson Cavani reckons loyalty will keep the striker at Anfield but eventually he'll need to play in the Champions League.

Luis Suarez is ready to let his heart rule his head and stay with Liverpool.

But Suarez's Uruguayan striker partner Edinson Cavani has warned Brendan Rodgers that he will lose the 26-year-old if he fails to deliver a top-four finish next season to take the Reds back into the Champions League.

Cavani, the Napoli hit-man who will be a £50million target for Manchester City this summer, is a close friend and confidante of Suarez.

And he says the Reds cult-hero feels compelled to stay at Anfield for another season because he is loved by the fans.

But Canvani said: "The fact is that Luis is one of the top strikers in the world and he wants to be playing Champions League football.

Suarez feels loved by Liverpool fans.

"Of course, Liverpool are not going to make it this season.

"But of they don't make it next season then they will have a problem.

"Luis would love to play in the Champions League with Liverpool.

"But if he can't then a player of his quality needs to play for a club where he can.

"I know it meant a lot when Liverpool stood by him through some tough times“ and he has a lot of love for the club and their fans."

Suarez brilliance has shone this season and his 29 goals have put him in the frame for the Footballer of the Year award.

Liverpool chief executive Ian Ayre claimed that Suarez was misquoted during the week when the player claimed he would be open to talk to any team that could offer him Champions League football.

And Cavani's quotes would suggest that Suarez is ready to commit himself to the Merseysiders for another 12 months- despite reported interest from Juventus and City.

Cavani admitted that Suarez is also trying to convince him to swap serie A for the Champions League.

He added: "When I speak with Luis he speaks with admiration about Liverpool and the Premier League.

"He even encourages me to play in England."

Reina: 'I'm very happy with Rodgers'

Written By Unknown on Saturday, March 23, 2013 | 3:04 AM

Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina has revealed that he has been impressed with the start of Brendan Rodgers as manager at Anfield.

style="border-radius: 25px 25px 25px 25px; border: 5px solid rgb(204, 204, 204);" width="212" />

Reina has found himself in and out of the side this season due to injury, while also finding himself linked with a move away from the club.

However, the Spanish stopper has insisted that he has a good relationship with his boss, and that they share many similar ideas about football.

The 30-year-old told The Mirror: "My relationship with the manager is very good, I think we have got a lot of ideas in common. There is understanding about tactics, and the way we see football is quite similar.

"I'm very happy with our manager. He's making sure we are learning, every day, the way to win, and that's important.

"If we play good football, then we will be closer to winning games."

Sterling set for England U21s

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers insists he is happy for Raheem Sterling to take part in this summer's U21 European Championship.

Rodgers has been careful to manage the development of the 18-year-old and has played him in the club's U21 side despite Sterling breaking into the first team this season.

Sterling has already played for Roy Hodgson's senior side, making his England debut in the 4-2 friendly defeat to Sweden in November.

But he could well represent Stuart Pearce's side in this summer's U21s tournament in Israel, where England will face the host nation in the group stages, as well as Italy and Norway.

"I spoke to Stuart Pearce because we have a number of England U21 boys here and I don't think it would do Raheem any harm," Rodgers told the Daily Mail.

"He's had a good season and going to a tournament like that, if selected, will be good for his experience."

As far as Sterling's club football is concerned, Rodgers has confirmed he is considering playing the winger against Chelsea in the FA Youth Cup semi-finals.

"Micah Richards played in the Youth Cup when he was in the Manchester City side in the semi-finals so we will see," added Rodgers.

"I don't know a player around his age who is playing regularly at this level.

"We just have to ensure that as a club, we don't make any mistakes with his development."

Reina: A move to Barca is out of my hands

Written By Unknown on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 | 5:16 AM

Pepe Reina stated that he has no immediate desire to replace Barcelona goalkeeper, Victor Valdes when his contract expires in June 2014, and anything to the contrary is rumour.

In an interview with Spanish sports daily, AS, Reina responded to rumours that he is pushing for a move back to the Camp Nou and insists he is content at Anfield.

“[A move to Barcelona] is not in my hands and the rumour will keep increasing by the media. Barca are such a great club, but I'm happy at Liverpool.”

Reina went on to say that he maintains a good relationship with his former La Masia team-mate, but would not reveal any details behind his decision, even if he knew anything.

“He is a friend, I’m going to respect him in everything that he decides,” he said. “He will have his reasons. He’s not told me anything.”

The Spanish international was elated by his chance to start for the Spanish national team, with Real Madrid’s Iker Casillas still sidelined as he recovers from surgery and spoke about Casilla’s replacement with Los Blancos, Diego Lopez.

“Everything indicates that I will play, but I won’t change my attitude because Iker isn’t here. I’m always excited and prepared. Not everybody that is called up is lucky enough to play. Only 11 play, but being called up by your country is an honour.

“Diego is playing so well; he has been decisive in many games and he is a Real Madrid-quality goalkeeper, without doubt. But in the national team it is the manager that makes the decisions.”

Reina with his teammates at Euro 2012

Reina concluded that despite his reputation as a jokester, he takes his job very seriously, while still allowing himself to enjoy the good times at the appropriate moments.

“I’m not the showman. I’m an extrovert and joyful, and I have been lucky enough to be able to celebrate three great titles. I have been one of the most dedicated, but I am one of La Roja’s goalkeepers, not the showman.

“It’s not something that I prepare; I'm like that and whoever knows me knows that. But at the same time I don’t want people to prefer the funny Pepe Reina. I want them to value me as a sportsman.”

Downing says Liverpool will let him leave

Written By Unknown on Monday, March 18, 2013 | 5:46 AM

Liverpool winger Stewart Downing says he has been told he can leave the club by manager Brendan Rodgers.

The 28-year-old has played in five of Liverpool's last six games but has often had to play at left-back rather than in midfield.

"The manager has said I can leave if I want to," Downing told the Reds' match day programme before playing in their 3-1 loss to former club Aston Villa.

"But then I've come back into the team, it's a strange situation."

Downing joined the Anfield club from Aston Villa in summer 2011 for a fee believed to be in the region of £20m when Kenny Dalglish was the manager.

"I've played for a long time and there are spells when you can be in and out of the side," added Downing.

"At the minute I'm trying to play as many games as possible.

"If that doesn't happen I'm at an age where I can't be sat around. I need to play and the manager understands that."

He recently admitted he was "disappointed" by criticism from Rodgers before the Reds boss praised the player after his winner in a Europa League group game against Anzhi Makhachkala.

"That's how the situation is and we'll have to see what happens in January or the summer."

Liverpool can still make Europe

The Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson has said that the club's bid for European football is far from over despite the defeat at Southampton.

The Reds' three-match winning run in the league, which had raised slim hopes of sneaking into the Champions League, was brought to a shuddering halt with the 3-1 loss on Saturday.

However, while the top four – now nine points away – may be out of reach, Henderson believes seventh-placed Liverpool can still secure a place in European competition next season.

"It was a big disappointment against Southampton but Europe's not gone yet," he said. "We've still got eight games to play and that's a lot of points to play for. We've still got to play some of the teams above us so we have to keep going. We have to pick ourselves up from this and ensure we respond positively against Aston Villa after the international break."

Henderson's playing time in the league has been limited since his last start since Liverpool took on West Bromwich Albion but he accepts it has been difficult to break into a winning side. However, he is hoping for an opportunity with Joe Allen set to have an operation on a shoulder injury seemingly sooner rather than later after pulling out of Wales' squad on Sunday.

"I've just got to keep working hard," he told the Liverpool Echo. "Before Saturday the team had been playing brilliantly so I can't complain. You can't really change a winning team so I've understood why I've not played. I just have to make sure that when the manager needs me I'm ready to take my chance."

Coutinho is 'similar to Messi'

Written By Unknown on Friday, March 15, 2013 | 10:18 AM

Liverpool's Philippe Coutinho has similar qualities to Ronaldinho and Lionel Messi, according to Southampton manager Mauricio Pochettino.

On Saturday, the Saints host a Liverpool side likely to include the 20-year-old, who has impressed since moving from Inter Milan in January.

Pochettino coached the Brazilian for a time at Espanyol in Spain last season.

"As with most Brazilians, Philippe has a special magic in his feet," the Saints boss said.

"Aside from the magic that he has, he also has an amazing work rate and that makes us doubt whether he fits the mould of a typical Brazilian player or a European one because his work ethic is outstanding.

"What is important about him is he is a good lad, a good kid - a great, humble person."

And the Argentine coach, who tried to bring the player to St Mary's in January, placed him - potentially at least - in the company of fellow countryman and Barcelona legend Messi and Brazilian veteran Ronaldinho.

"I do think Coutinho has that same quality that Ronaldinho and Messi have, but he has much to prove yet," said Pochettino.

"What is really clear to me is that Coutinho is a really responsible player - really dedicated and responsible to his own players."

Coutinho has quickly settled into life at Anfield since his £8.5m switch, with Liverpool winning all three of the Premier League games he has started.

He has struck up a good partnership with Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez, with the Brazilian calling his team-mate "phenomenal", but he admits the physicality of the Premier League has come as a surprise to him.

"It is very different here. In Brazil the game is very open, the defenders are not as tight with the attacker. I think this is the hardest thing here," Coutinho told the Liverpool website.

"Also the game is very quick - but I feel I can improve these things during training and improve my intensity. I have been doing some body building, too, so I can get more used to the physicality."

Coutinho worked under former Espanyol coach Pochettino during a loan spell last season, but the Saints boss was coy about his efforts to sign the midfielder in January.

"What has happened in the past, happened in the past," Pochettino said. "We can't change it or do anything about it. Actually, talking about it is not going to do anything positive either."

Coutinho Style: Creative, tricky, skilful, a flair player who can unlock a defence.

Rodgers has warned Liverpool's rivals

Brendan Rodgers has warned Liverpool's rivals for a top-four finish that his side are improving all the time.

The 2012/13 campaign has been a slow-burner for the Anfield outfit, but they appear to have hit their stride at just the right time.

Three straight wins, including an impressive 3-2 victory over Tottenham Hotspur last time out, have fired Liverpool into the race for UEFA Champions League qualification - or a Europa League place at worst.

The Reds are still seven points off the pace at present, but Rodgers says they will be ready to pounce if those above them start to wobble heading down the final straight.

He said: "The teams above will know they can't be making any slip-ups - not only because of us, but for themselves.

"This is the stage of the season when you want to win games, and you have to win them.

"Our recent run of form shows without doubt we're a team which is improving and developing.

"The result against Tottenham showed the further enhancement of that, and we have to maintain that form to keep moving forward."

Rodgers added: "People know now we're a different team compared to the start of the season, for sure.

"There is a different mentality now, but there is no point in us getting carried away and looking too far ahead.

"We can only concentrate on ourselves and get as many victories as we can."
